After sharing a teaser of a potential collaboration between Supreme and True Religion earlier this month by pro skater Tyshawn Jones, the two companies have unveiled their collaborative capsule. The slightly weird capsule is comprised of a denim trucker jacket, hoodie, denim cargo pants, six-panel cap and beanie.
The announcement comes a year after True Religion filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2020. In an interview with Forbes, Michael Buckley, president of True Religion from 2006 to 2010 before returning to the brand in 2019, mentioned a new opportunity to turn towards collaborations, especially ones that might appeal to a younger demographic. “We’re focusing on getting the right influencers, who are wearing the products and talking about them. Our Gen Z customer is on TikTok, YouTube, and we have Millennials on Instagram,” he explained.
The Supreme and True Religion collection will be available at 11:00 AM EST on September 30, 2021 on supremenewyork.com in Western European and U.S. stores, and on October 2nd in Japan. The 6-panel caps will release at a later date, which has yet been revealed.
