A new trailer for upcoming biopic “King Richard” has revealed the soundtrack features a new Beyoncé single titled “Be Alive.” A film about the life of Richard Williams, as played by Will Smith, the film tells the story of his journey as the father and coach of tennis greats Venus and Serena Williams.
The anthem kicks in during the second-half of the trailer and features lyrics celebrating accomplishment. Belting it out, over a string orchestra Beyoncé (real name Beyoncé Knowles-Carter) sings: “It feels so good to be alive, that’s why I live my life with pride. Do you know how much we have pride; how hard we have to try?”
While Beyoncé hasn’t released a solo album her 2016 album Lemonade, she’s stayed busy musically, releasing Everything Is Love, a joint project with her husband Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter in 2019, followed in the same year by The Lion King albums, which she was responsible for producing.
More recently, she remade the Breakfast at Tiffany‘s song “Moon River,” as part of her and her husband’s inclusion in a global Tiffany‘s campaign.
King Richard will launch exclusively on HBO Max on November 19, 2021.
