It appears that DaBaby and DaniLeigh‘s on-again-off-again relationship has reached a point of no return after the two, who share a newborn daughter, had a falling out captured on a series of Instagram Live videos. The drama began on Sunday night (November 14, 2021) with an Instagram Live video on DaniLeigh’s feed in which the two are filmed sniping at each other as she fed their baby.
On Monday. the action switched to DaBaby Instagram Live where Dababy’s (real name Jonathan Kirk) asserted DaniLeigh was “not my girl” and rather was his “certified side bitch.” The 26-year-old choreographer and singer left the room only to return a few minutes later.
Not long after, the Charlotte police responded to a disturbance call. WSCOTV reported that Dababy told officers he was assaulted by the singer, who was subsequently served with a “criminal summons for simple assault” and a “second count of simple assault.”
Both entertainers followed up with statements on Instagram stories. In his statement, DaBaby said he had to “swiftly remove” himself from what he viewed as a hostile situation. While DaBaby didn’t say he called the police, he noted he would not be pressing charges.
Subsequently DaniLeigh (real name Danielle Curiel) released her own statement: “Since Baby wants to put up a ‘statement’ with his cap ass, I’ll put mine up. So we have been living with each other for the past three months since our baby been born. Tonight he wanna come in the room talking bout ‘I need to go’ don’t matter where I go. mind u, I have a newborn child.”
She then added he was angry because she had Plan B, a pregnancy prevention medication, sent to his home, implying they had unprotected sex and she was attempting to prevent becoming pregnant. DaniLeigh has since disclosed she left DaBaby’s home with their daughter.
Earlier this year, DaBaby faced extreme backlash over comments he made at Rolling Loud Miami that were viewed as homophobic.
