Atlanta-based designer Leila Kyriacos debuted a new Kyricacos collection earlier this month. Described as a label evoking mood and edginess, included among the apparel assortment is a keychain designed to double as self-defense accessory.
Providing the motivation for the keychain in an email exchange, Kyriacos explained, “I wanted to create a functional item that would showcase the sleek design of my logo, while also being a badass tool for self-defense. I noticed that the logo was almost perfect for your hands to hold, and with a little sharpening of the design, it was perfect! As a woman, I always have to think about my safety and surroundings, having this discreet keychain makes me feel better walking alone at night. “
A portion of the proceeds of the sale will be donated to Peace over Violence, a non-profit dedicated to building healthy relationships, families and communities free from sexual, domestic and interpersonal violence.
Priced at $20, the Kyriacos keychain is now available on kyriac0s.com.
