Boston-based New Balance has queued up a trio of colorways of its 550 silhouette just in time for the holiday. Featuring a white leather upper with colored panels, the shoe was offered in team Carolina blue, varsity orange and black.
Originally launched in 1989 as a basketball shoe called the P550, the silhouette was reintroduced in 2020 by New York-based Aimé Leon Dore under the creative direction of Teddy Santis. Offered in four colorways, all versions quickly sold out. Reflecting the power of his influence, Santis was appointed creative director of New Balance MADE in U.S.A. earlier this year.
Priced at $109.99, the shoe will launch at 10:00 AM EST on December 1, 2021 on newbalance.com and with select retailers.
