Los Angeles-based label No Sesso debuted its “Ghetto Gold” collection during the Miami edition of Art Basel this past weekend. Designed by Pierre Davis and Autumn Randolph the collection was presented as part of Jeffrey Deitch’s “Shattered Glass” art exhibition.
Rooted in Afrofuturism, the 19-piece equal parts sensual and chic collection combined materials recycled from prior collections as blended with opulent materials such as ostrich feathers, gold roping and fur, was created over the course of two years. Featuring an all Black cast, models struck powerful poses, exuding an air of relaxed power.
Making an elevated and artful statement, the collection is available for sale to private clientele and won’t be sold at retail.
