Maisie Wilen as directed by Maisie Schloss showed a fully holographic show for fall 2022 during New York Fashion Week as part of a partnership with Yahoo. As part of a collaboration with Mattell, the digitized models make reference to the creatures Frankie Stein, Draculaura, Lagoona Blue and Clawdeen Wolf featured in the doll company’s “Monster High” franchise.
As part of the effort, the label created dangling skull earring inspired by the pair character Frankie Stein is known to wear. Made of resin with a silver-plated chain, the back of the blue skull is stamped with Maisie Wilen.
In addition to Mattell, the Los Angeles-based label also partnered with Keds on a collection of five shoe silhouettes. Adding some energy to the usually staid brand, Maisie Wilen’s shoe include cone spikes, faux fur and the kaleidoscopes that have become her signature.
Those who want to view the holographic collection can use a QR code to access the 3D assets, which are hosted on WebAR.
Maisie Wilen and Keds will launch in the fall. Priced at $50, the “Monster High” Frankie Stein earrings are now available to purchase on creations.mattel.com.
