Following surfaced images revealing a possible Air Jordan Retro 2 collab with artist Nina Chanel Abney, the Chicago-native took to Instagram where she confirmed the collab with an image of herself wearing a pair of her Jordan Retro 2 High white and red sneakers while in attendance at was in attendance at the annual Jordan Brand Classic basketball tournament on April 15, 2022 in Chicago.
At the event, Abney also wore a baseball cap featuring what we presume is her interpretation of the Jordan logo, a red silhouette jumping skyward against a green and black backdrop.
While Abney was wearing a Retro 2 high sneaker, Instagram account @zSneakerHeadz has revealed a second Jordan and Abney silhouette, a Retro 2 Low in white and green (above).
Abney’s collaboration with the Jordan brand, makes her the fourth woman to work with Jordan on a sneaker collaboration. Known for her sharp, thought-provoking artwork filed with colorful statements on various social issues, we look forward to the complete unveiling of Abney’s collaboration with Jordan brand.
While pricing isn’t yet available, the shoe is said to be launching some time in summer 2022.
