Chicago native Joe Freshgoods (real name Joseph Robinson) has provided a look at his next New Balance collab, a 550 silhouette feature an off-white hairy suede and canvas upper with a yellowed sole.
The shoe is a part of New Balance and Joe Freshgoods “Conversations Amongst Us” initiative first announced during Black History Month. Announced as creative director of the project, Joe will direct the release of at least 12 different New Balance sneakers, an effort that will be accompanied by short films and apparel centering Black creatives.
Commenting on the project on Instagram, Joe wrote, “I started off this journey with @newbalance 2 years ago. Didn’t honestly know what to expect. What started off as a one-off allstar weekend project in my hometown turned into a partnership filled with honor, respect and me smoking on zoom calls telling them about my crazy ideas daily.”
