A band of thieves broke into 20 trailer trucks carrying Nike shoes and apparel that were parked in a lot in Memphis and stole $800,000 in merchandise, according to reporting by Fox13 Memphis. The break in took place after midnight on September 6, 2022 in a parking lot located near Shelby Drive and Lamar Avenue, located less than a mile from a Nike distribution center.
According to the Memphis Police Department, the location where the trucks were parked had video surveillance on the front lot but not the back lot where the trucks were parked.
News of the break in began to surface on Facebook on Tuesday when a Facebook account posted images of the trucks with open Nike boxes scattered nearby. Indicating the thieves were selective about what they took, photographs show multiple boxes of a $60 Run Star Runner shoe left behind. According to chatter on social item, multiple Air Jordan silhouettes were stolen including Jordan 4 midnight navy 4, Jordan 11 in cherry red and Jordan 6 in metallic silver.
