Adidas Originals has tapped Emily Oberg for a Sporty & Rich collection featuring apparel and footwear. Working off of the brand’s ’80s archives, the collection includes a ringer top and embroidered Firebird tracksuit in two colorways: green and white and white and burgundy made using Beckenbaeur Pique, a cotton and polyester fabric. Footwear includes include a white and green Samba OG, white and burgundy Stan Smith and burgundy Campus 80.
“Working with Adidas proved very seamless,” Oberg told WWD. “I was surprised they were even interested in working with me at first, but I’m glad they were. A lot of big brands often have so much red tape to go through, but they are an easygoing company. They loved what we do at Sporty & Rich, so they trusted what we were going to design and gave us total creative freedom.”
