Adidas Originals and British label Wales Bonner as lead by Grace Wales Bonner continue their ongoing collabortive partnership with a spring 2023 collection of shoes and apparel. Titled “Land of Wood and Water,” a reference to Jamaica, the collection, according to press, “explores the Trefoil’s lasting presence within Jamaican culture.”
The collection is highlighted by the WB Samba sneaker in two colorways: one in a neutral color palette with a nubuck upper and leather stripes, the other featuring a silver leather upper and crochet stripes, whch has created no small amount of buzz in the lead up to the launch. In addition, the WB SL72 knit sneaker features a knit upper and is offered in two colorways paying homage to Jamaican culture.
Apparel offerings include a light teal nylon tracksuit, silver anorak with matching shorts, and the introduction of a Jamaican staple in the form of a Harrington jacket and flared trouser set. Other highlights include a toweling top and shorts set, knitted geometric patten roll neck, knitted sweater vest, neutral sweater sweatpant set, and two short-sleeve cotton t-shirts.
Campaign images were shot in Jamaica by Jalan and Jibril Durimel, with looks styled by Tom Guinness a long-time collaborator of Bonner.
Adidas Originals and Wales Bonner’s spring 2023 collection will launch globally on June 9, 2023, via Confirmed, and through select retailers.
