As part of her spring 2024 presentation, menswear designer Martine Rose revealed the next chapter of her ongoing collaborative Nike partnership with the debut of a new Shox MR4 mule color detailed with the designer’s classic paint-splatter print, a colorway inspired by heritage goalkeeper kits.
Alongside the Shox, Rose debuted her first “Coming Up Roses” Clarks collection with a men’s Oxford and a women’s loafer, shown in black leather.
The runway show also featured a collaboration with interdisciplinary artist and designer YazXL, comprising colorful ear cuffs in ostrich plume and mohair along with earrings and rings by New York-based jeweler LL, LLC, inspired by burnt and unburnt matchsticks.
Staged in the community center of St. Joseph’s Parish near Rose’s Crouch Hill, London studio, the runway included male and female models dressed in slouchy takes on menswear-cut shirts and trousers. Making an edgier statement, Rose included ’30s era satin slips and girdles which were worn under sporty track suits as well as layered over tank tops and short sets.
The collection’s meetings of cultures and subcultures included tropical shirts and t-shirts adorned with festival florals.
