Dutch-born singer, songwriter, and actor Naomi Sharon has unveiled a sultry music video for “Lush,” a lush song featuring Nigerian singer Ohma Lay. The song is included on Obsidian, her 13-song debut album released on Drake‘s OVO label in October 2023. Directed by Giancarlo Sanchez and styled by Max Heuvelman, the video includes choreography by Malou Linders.
The first woman signed to OVO, Sharon’s profile has shot up since the news was announced in January. In a recent interview, Sharon delved into creative choices behind the “Push” visual. “I feel very abundant when I do something,” she told Complex, “For instance, for this new music video for ‘Push,’ I was like, ‘I want to dance’ because I had that background and I just want to put it in a music video and rehearsing with one of my favorite choreographers made me so happy and made me feel so abundant and that’s like a little thing. So things like that..”
The interview sheds light on Sharon’s commitment to infusing personal elements into her creative work, highlighting her dedication to authenticity and the joy derived from embracing her artistic roots.
