New York-based handbag label Brandon Blackwood has tapped relationship expert and financial advisor SheRa Seven (real name Leticia Padua) to highlight a collection of Valentine’s Day bags. In addition to the capsule, the label also tapped SheRa for a weekly relationship advice series through Valentine’s Day, inspired by her YouTube channel.
The choice to collaborate with SheRa underscores one of the key factors contributing to designer Brandon Blackwood’s success: the ability to identify individuals and moments that resonate meaningfully with his target customer. While SheRa’s reach as a content creator has exploded over the past year thanks in part to reposts of her videos on Tiktok, her most enduring fans are the Black women for whom her message is tailored.
SheRa is best known for the relationship and finacial advice she provides to women on YouTube where she fields questions from her 589,000 followers. SheRa provides women with guidance “on getting the bag.” Known for dropping her signature phraise “sprinkle sprinkle” to underscore her most important messages, she counsels women to take a business-like approach to relationship by focusing on finding men who are providers, as opposed to a “dusties,” who are known to be exploitive and are incapable of supporting a woman.
Shera also warns about “pickmeishas,” women who are willing to go 50/50 with men or even worse support them financially.
