Bronx-born photographer Renell Medrano received the ICP Infinity Award for Commercial and Editorial Photography at an event held on Wednesday (April 10, 2024) at The Shed in Manhattan.
Medrano’s work has been published in publications such as Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, GQ and W. She’s also shot campaigns for various brands, including Burberry, Gucci and Prada, to name a few.
A graduate of Parsons School of Design | The New School, she graduated with a degree in photography. In 2015, she was awarded “New York Times Lens Blog Award” for her photography series “Untitled Youth,” which explored the lives of four teenage girls living in the Bronx going through adolescence.
Other honorees that evening were: Caryl S. Englander who was awarded the Trustees Award, artist Shirin Neshat who received the Lifetime Achievement award, Lynsey Addario, the recipient the Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism award, and Wendy Red Star the Contemporary Photography and New Media award.
The International Center of Photography Infinity Awards acknowledge and applaud significant contributions in photography and visual art. This year’s event, coincides with ICP’s 50th Anniversary, marking a profound legacy in photographic excellence. Serving as ICP’s largest fundraiser, the occasion supports its comprehensive range of education and exhibition programs.
