Brooklyn-born DJ and producer Kitty Cash (real name Cachee Livingston) has released “Handle With Carem” an eight-song EP featuring an eclectic mix of sounds and artists, including Rico Nasty, Kilo Kish, Thundercat. The EP is a follow up to her groundbreaking “Love The Free” mixtape series, which she debuted a decade ago.
Reflecting on the project on Instagram, Kitty Cash wrote, “For the past year I have been working on “Handle With Care,” the ultimate commitment to myself and the most beautiful way to see my growth from a DJ into a producer. From sharing with friends to releasing it into the world this feels like a gift in itself.
“‘Handle With Care’ serves as a metaphor for the outsourcing of my emotional baggage. The addictions, relationships, projections, traumas, and my fears. A PSA in a way… honoring my femininity, vulnerability and the parts of myself I have been afraid to love enough to share. Purposely leaning into the chaos that comes from growth and using it as inspiration while creating. Not conforming to one style but being boundless and using ‘play’ as a form of expression through electronic music.”
