New York-based Supreme has teamed up with the oh so cool British-Jamaican designer Martine Rose for its upcoming fall 2024 release. Known for her boundary-pushing take on fashion, Rose has brought her signature style to Supreme’s latest drop, set to hit stores this Thursday. The collection is classic Martine Rose, taking the traditional elements of masculine fashion and turning them inside out.
The collection comprises leather jackets, oversized puffers, and reversible denim trucker jackets, along with denim cargo pants, track sets, and suits. It also includes the sweaters, football jerseys, T-shirts, hats, and lanyards. The standout might just be the Desert Trek boots from Clarks Originals, a nod to Rose’s role as a guest creative director at the brand.
In press about the collaboration, Rose commented on her inspiration and says “I had this broad sense of clothing being associated with different nights and different scenes. I had a precocious experience of dance and music culture and how they affected the clothes. It wasn’t fashion. My family’s Jamaican, and there was a very, very particular respect for style. Fashion was something… almost basic. If you had style, that was something else.”
The collaboration also includes a 44-page black-and-white zine that documents the entire collection. All profits from the zine will go to St. Giles Trust, a U.K.-based charity that supports people affected by homelessness, substance abuse, and violence. The Supreme x Martine Rose collab will be available on Martine-Rose.com in the UK, US, and Europe on September 12, 2024, at 11am EST.
