Adidas Originals linked with Korean American designer Ji Won Choi to create an Adicolor capsule, presented on Saturday (February 16, 2019) during London Fashion Week. The brightly colored offerings were highlighted by prominent use of the brand’s three stripes, placed to make a bold geometric statement. Wide-cut track pants were coordinated with long-sleeve soccer jersey tops as well as collared button ups.
Reflecting on her collection, Choi stated, “My inspiration behind the collection was to reimagine the Adidas tracksuit in five different ways. Bringing in movement and repetition of the iconic three stripes.”
A graduate of Parsons School of Design, Choi May 2017 thesis presentation titled “EXCESSIVISM” drew wide praise and accolades including Kering’s Empowering Imagination award and Yoox’s Yoogygen award. The collection was also a finalist for Eyes on Talent, CFDA Fashion Future Graduate, and Parsons Creative Systems awards.
Adidas and Choi’s collection will be available in Adidas stores and adidas.com/jwonchoi on February 23, 2019.
