Bronx-rapper Cardi B, alongside Gunna, Jaden Smith and Juice WRLD, have all been honored by Spotify with statues that will be displayed at the Brooklyn Museum.
The bronze statues commemorate the four rappers induction into the streaming service’s “Rap Caviar Pantheon,” a reference to the wildly popular “Rap Caviar” playlist. Spotify highlights artists based on their impact on the rap genre.
In a press release, Carl Chery, Spotify’s hip-hop curator and head of RapCaviar explained, “Spotify is committed to supporting young, innovative artists who also have a positive impact on the music industry, culture, and society. These four bold and fearless artists are striving to make changes with their music, and we’re thrilled to induct them into the program.”
Cardi’s look was styled by Kollin Carter of course and she was transformed into statue form wearing an Ashi Studio dress, a Laurel DeWitt headpiece and arm cuffs and 21m earrings.
In 2017, Spotify announced the inaugural members of the “Rap Caviar Pantheon” with the induction of Metro Boomin, SZA and 21 Savage “Rap Caviar Pantheon,” and also commemorated each artist with a statue, which was displayed at the museum.
The exhibit will be showcased at The Brooklyn Museum from April 3rd- April 7th.
