Cardi B has long had beef with The Shade Room, a gossip site she views as focused only on the negative. Cardi has repeatedly stated she doesn’t want to be featured on the site and yesterday (April 23, 2019) she went on Instagram stories and blasted The Shade Room founder, Angelica Nwandu, for posting a story about her husband, Offset, who’s facing felony gun charges stemming from a 2018 arrest, a story first reported on by TMZ.
On stories, Cardi described Nwandu as a “water buffalo-built bitch,” and claimed that because The Shade Room isn’t allowed to post about her, the site instead attacks people associated with her including Quality Control co-founder Pierre “Pee” Thomas, her husband, Offset, and City Girls member Yung Miami. Cardi is managed by the Atlanta-based Quality Control.
She also noted that the site doesn’t cover positive news and mentioned Offset’s donations and community outreach efforts as items that weren’t covered by The Shaderoom and other urban blogs.
On Instagram Stories, The Shaderoom countered Card’s claims by posting a series of positive Cardi and Offset stories they’ve covered over the past year.
Pushing back, Cardi stated emphatically, “Every shit that you posted on your story about me and my nigga, this fake positive shit that y’all claim you posted about me was a year ago when y’all wasn’t on this hate Cardi campaign. When y’all wasn’t fucking getting paid to smear my fucking name and shit. So don’t come with that bullshit like if I’m fucking dumb or I’m popping off my mouth for nothing. What positive shit have you posted on me or my nigga this year? Nothing at all so stop with the shits!
