Rihanna strikes an artful pose for the cover of Harper’s Bazaar China’s August 2019 issue. Shot by photographer Chen Man, the Bajan boss wear a green gown designed by Jean Paul Gaultier for the English cover and a navy pleated Iris Van Herpen gown for the Chinese version.
Emphasizing her rise from an island girl to international superstar, the magazine wrote on Instagram, “Being born in Barbados, Rihanna has worked her way up from ‘nobody’ to ‘somebody’ with her musical talents. She is now a role model for girls all over the world, and she is even the ‘king of pop.'”
This is Rihanna’s second time appearing on the cover. She was first shot for the magazine in April 2015.
