Adidas and Arizona Ice Tea created quite the ruckus last week (July 18-19, 2019) when they announced plans for a capsule of four sneakers priced at 99 cents each at a pop-up shop at 208 Bowery Street in Manhattan. Crowds caused the event on both days to be shut down by NYPD before opening, followed by profuse apologies by the beverage brand, which ending up giving away the stock of shoes for free through an online raffle.
Now comes news that the two Continental and Yung-1 silhouettes featuring Arizona Ice Tea-inspired color schemes will once again be made available for purchase, however, this time they will priced at the considerably higher price point of $200. While there probably won’t be the same fever pitched demand, interest should remain quite high given the shoes’ now infamous back story.
At the moment, Adidas hasn’t provided timing for the relaunch of the shoes.
