New York-based MoMA continues its ongoing merch partnership with Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama with news of a pair of artful snowglobes.
One of the globes features a yellow version of Kusama’s signature dotted pumpkin, while the second globe features a miniature
The silver sphere snowglobe is an ode to her “Narcissus Garden” project, first presented in 1966 at the 33rd Venice Biennale, at which Kusama stood among a crowd of mirrored spheres dressed in a gold kimono alongside signs reading “Your Narcissism for Sale.” A similar version of the piece was installed during summer 2018 at MoMA PS1 with a display containing 1,500 mirrored stainless steel spheres.
Priced at $180 for non-members and $162 for museum members, both globes are now available on store.moma.org.
