Speculation about Rihanna‘s personal life has been bubbling ever since Us Weekly and several other publications confirmed she was no longer with Toyota executive Hassan Jameel, who she’d been quietly dating since late 2016.
Chatter began to rise when she was spotted with A$AP Rocky at his Yam’s Day event in New York in January and previously was rumored to have spent New Year’s in New York with the Harlem rapper and members of his crew. Subsequently, Us Weekly issued a story putting the kibosh on any rumors of a romance with a story describing their relationship as located firmly within the friend’s zone.
Today, The Sun pushed back on Us Weekly with a story declaring that the two music creatives are indeed dating.When Rihanna was last in New York for the Yam’s Day event, according to The Sun’s source, “They shared a hotel suite during her trip in New York. However, Rihanna is reluctant to put a label on it as it’s so soon after Hassan.”
Following The Suns‘ claims, E! News fired back a few hours later with a headline reading, “Here’s What’s Really Going on With Rihanna and A$AP Rocky.” Short answer, the two are strictly friends.
According to E! News‘ source, “Rihanna is single. She just got out of a long intense relationship with Hassan. She’s wants to be single and isn’t going to jump into something. She’s hanging out with A$AP Rocky, but she is not dating him.”
At this point it’s difficult to know which reliable anonymous source to believe, though we’re leaning toward her wanting to stay single as she processes the end of a serious relationship, and, we hope, focuses on making the release of R9 a reality.
