Surprise, surprise, after an eight year absence from presenting in Paris, Kanye West has announced plans for a Yeezy Season 8 presentation, scheduled for Monday evening (March 2, 2020). The event will be held as part of Paris Fashion Week.
The designer will also hold a Sunday Service performance in Paris on the Sunday preceding the presentation.
While Yeezy footwear has become a money-churning brand for West and parent company Adidas with estimated sales of $1.5 billion in 2019, the brand’s clothing has been a stop and start business and doesn’t even exist at retail at the moment. As such, it’s not clear if the presentation will largely be focused on footwear or will function as a relaunch of the clothing line.
West’s last Yeezy collection was shown in New York in February 2017. The show on Sunday will mark the first time the Yeezy label has presented in Paris.
West debuted his own eponymous label, also known as Donda, with a spring 2012 runway collection. After showing a fall 2012 runway, West shut the label down and later complained the rate at which production was draining his account wasn’t sustainable.
