Entertainer and entrepreneur Tyra Banks checked in with the latest episode of Complex’s “Sneaker Shopping” series, a show hosted by Joe La Puma. Banks is the midst of a press run as she prepares to launch Modelland, an amusement park in Santa Monica that will open May 1, 2020.
Banks makes sense as a guest on the sneaker series because she was the first non-athlete (according to her) sponsored by Nike, who included her in the brand’s famed “Lil Penny” ad campaigns.
The 46-year-old Banks also revealed that she and her mother both share a crush on actor/writer Larry David, who’s currently starring in HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” However, Banks admitted she’s not impressed with David’s sneaker choices and describes her crush as “head to ankle.”
In the episode, she also discussed meeting and working with Kobe Bryant on music and also told a funny tale about landing a role on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” as the ex-girl friend of Will Smith’s character.
While Banks conducted the interview in pair of black suede Christian Louboutin boots she picked up five pairs of sneakers including three Air Jordan 1 silhouettes, an Air Jordan 3 sneaker and to round things out, a pair of Adidas Ultraboost.
