Brooklyn-based Pyer Moss designer Kerby Jean-Raymond announced he has set aside $50,000 to assist minority-owned creative businesses “currently in distress.” In a statement distributed on social media, the designer wrote, “If you cannot make payroll or cannot cover pressing costs to keep your business afloat, please reach out, let us know what you do and how we can help.
At the same time, Jean-Raymond has converted the label’s New York showroom into a a donation center, where people can donate N95 face masks, gloves and other items in short supply for members of the medical community. Raymond has also set aside $5,000 aside to purchase supplies.
