YEEZY‘s most popular silhouette is without doubt the BOOST 350, but that’s partially because its the shoe that’s most widely and consistently available. However, one of Yeezy’s most influential shoes is the Yeezy BOOST 700 Wave Runner, a chunky silhouette with a grey, black and teal upper first shown on the label’s Season 5 runway and subsequently made available to purchase in an August 2017 pre-sale.
Like most things Ye, the Wave Runner was initially controversial but would become the engine behind the dad shoe movement which took over for the sneaker space for next couple of years.
The Wave Runner colorway was restocked in 2018 and 2019 and after skipping 2020, according to Yeezy Supply, they will return in August 2021.
When last the Boos 700 Wave Runner was launched, it was priced at $300. More recently Yeezy Boost 700 shoes have been priced between $200-$220, so it will be interesting to see if the Wave Runner comes down in price. As popular as the silhouette is, it’s conceivable YEEZY decides to stick with the original $300 pricepoint.
