German athletic brand Adidas and Italian luxury label Prada continue their collaborative partnership with news of the Luna Rossa 21 sneaker offered in two new colorways: matte grey and core black.
First announced in November of last year, the weatherproof silhouette was designed for and worn by the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli sail team for the Prada Cup held in March 2021.
The Luna Rossa takes its designs queues from archival Prada and Adidas shoes as informed by the new AC75 Luna Rossa boat. Reflecting the sustainability themes of Prada’s Luna Rossa offerings, the upper is made of a recycled material called Primegreen. Perforated and detailed with Adidas’ three stripes, the upper is encased in a water resistant translucent outer shell while the midsole makes use of Adidas’ Boost technology.
Priced at $650, both shoes will launch at Prada physical and online stores and Adidas’ confirmed app on July 19, 2021.
