Converse and Rick Owens‘ through his DRKSHDW diffusion line have announced the upcoming release of the TURBOWPN, an update on the Weapon sneaker. The Paris-based designer has redesigned the black and white sneaker by elongating the tongue and doubling the size of the outsole, giving a bulkier platform look.
“When I discovered how powerful just oversizing something a little bit was, which I’ve done with a lot of my clothes, that became one of my tools,” Owen says, reflecting on his latest work with Converse. “One of the main things that I think it suggests is empathy and consideration of systems of living that might not be standard.”
New of the TURBOWN follows the release of the TURBODRK, an update on the Chuck 70 silhouette highlighted by a square toe.
Converses and DRKSHDW’s TURBOWPN sneaker will be released on August 31, 2021 on converse.com, rickowens.eu Rick Owens stores and select retailers. but retail pricing has not been announced.
