Beyoncé Knowles Carter continues to make money moves. The 40-year-old entrepreneur and music creative has tapped Janki Lalani Gandhi as managing director of Parkwood Ventures where she will oversee investments, finance and strategy.
According to reporting by WWD, Gandhi is coming from a role as managing director for Goldman Sachs’ Cross Markets and Consumer Retail Groups, which were focused on beauty and fashion.
“I have spent my entire career working with talented creative founders and entrepreneurs and this opportunity takes it to the next level,” Gandhi told WWD. “I am excited to join the team at Parkwood Ventures and contribute my experience and skill set to an innovative company with a proven track record for unmatched talent and global success.”
Founded in 2013, Parkwood Ventures is the corporate wing of Beyoncé’s creative company, Parkwood Entertainment, and is responsible for her investments and business development.
Ghandi’s entry follows on the heels of Beyoncé cutting multiple deals with Disney, Adidas and more recently a global campaign with Tiffany, alongside her husband Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter.
WWD points out Gandhi has a background in mergers and acquisitions, perhaps signaling the Queen Bey is in a mood to expand her empire through new ventures.
