Reebok and A Bathing Ape kick off the year with the news of another collaboration. While details of the collaboration have not been revealed, the announcement hints at the use of BAPE‘s signature camouflage.
This will be the second time the two brands have partnered. In fall 2021, BAPE worked off of a white version of Reebok’s Club C sneaker silhouette, which was detailed with the BAPE STA logo.
In Snobette’s 2021 Sneaker Awards, Reebok landed on our top 10 list through its collaboration with Danielle Guizio on the Club C, a classic that’s won appeal among sneaker lovers looking to make a more subtle brand statement.
Adidas announced it sold Reebok to Authentic Brands Group for €2.1 billion in August 2021. The transaction is expected to close sometime during first quarter 2022. Reebok will be a part of a portfolio of 30 brands including Forever 21, Brooks Brothers, Aeropostale, Eddie Bauer and Shaquille O’Neal’s apparel line.
Commenting on plans for the brand, Authentic Brands Group CEO Jamie Salter recently told Yahoo Finance, “Whether it’s Iverson or Shaquille O’Neal bringing back the Pump [sneaker], getting back into the basketball business in a major way is one our focuses.”
While there’s no pricing or launch date available just yet, Reebok and A Bathing Ape’s sneaker will be revealed on January 10, 2021.
