Nike and designer Tom Sachs are celebrating 10 years of working together with a new NikeCraft sneaker. Dubbed the General Purpose Shoe (style code: DA6672-200), the shoe is described as an “ordinary shoe for extraordinary people.” Placing an emphasis on doing, the shoe is meant to be boring “because sneakers shouldn’t be the most exciting thing about you.”
Stylish in its simplicity, the shoe features an off-white mesh upper with a white Swoosh contrasted by bright blue looped tags on the tongue with a gum-colored cupsole and black sole.
Commenting on his latest endeavor with Nike, in a press release Sachs said, “I got involved with Nike in the beginning because we wanted to make a sculpture that everyone could wear. It’s a tool for everyday life. It’s democratic.”
Priced at 109.99, NikeCraft’s General Purpose shoe is offered in women’s sizes 5-14.5, 15.5, and 16.5 and in men’s sizes 3.5-13, 14, and 15 and will launch on nikecraft.com on June 10, 2022.
