One thing about McDonald’s, it’s going to stay offering an of-the-moment collaboration. This time the enduring fast-food restaurant chain surprises through an effort with Cactus Plant Flea Market, a streetwear label directed by Cynthia Lu.
Commenting on the collab, McDonald’s CMO Tariq Hassan said, “We’re taking one of the most nostalgic McDonald’s experiences and literally repackaging it in a new way that’s hyper-relevant for our adult fans.”
The collaboration is centered by a CPFM-designed box containing one of two meals: Big Mac or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets. Each box also contains one of four figures reimagined by Lu: McDonald’s characters Grimace, Hamburglar, and Birdie plus Cactus Budd.
Customers who purchase the Cactus Plant Flea Market Box on McDonald’s app will automatically be entered for a chance to score exclusive merch for free every week, including items like t-shirts, a Grimace Chair and more.
Separate from the McDonald’s and CPFM meal, the collab will also include a merch launch featuring a hoodie and a t-shirt and other items.
McDonald’s and CPFM’s boxed meals will launch on October 3, 2022. While pricing hasn’t been announced, the hoodie, t-shirt and other items will launch on the same day at 11:00 AM EST on cpfmmcdonalds.com. The collection will only be available during a limited-time window, while supplies last.
