Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) paid a second visit to Revolt’s “Drink Champs,” a podcast hosted by N.O.R.E. (real name Victor Santiago) and DJ EFN (real name Eric Narciandi). Over the course of three hours, he blasted his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Meek Mill, Trevor Noah, Sean “Diddy” Combs and Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter among others.
More so than any one individual, throughout the interview he repeated harmful antisemitic tropes, including repeatedly stating Jewish people control the media.
In one of the interviews most egregious moments, he falsely claimed George Floyd died as a result of a Fentanyl drug overdose combined with heart disease rather than police officer Derek Chauvin suffocating by placing a knee on his neck for nine minutes. The medical examiner found that Floyd’s heart stopped while he was being restrained and that his death was a homicide. Chauvin was found guilty on all three murder and manslaughter charges on April 20, 2021.
In response, civil rights attorney Lee Merritt stated on Twitter that the family is considering suing Ye for false statements “about the manner of his death.”
Response to the video has largely been negative with many blasting N.O.R.E. for providing Ye with a platform to disseminate harmful lies without any pushback.
