Louis Vuitton has announced 30-year-old Brooklyn-based designer KidSuper designer Colm Dillane as a guest menswear designer for the label’s January 2023 presentation.
According to reporting by WWD, the presentation will also involve filmmakers Michel and Olivier Gondry; stylist Ib Kamara; visual director Lina Kutsovskaya and a global music star whose name hasn’t yet been revealed.
Born in Manhattan, Dillane moved away from the City as a toddler, but returned in his teens. He attended Brooklyn Tech High School where he launched t-shirt brand called Brick Oven T-shirts. He launched KidSuper while attending New York University.
Dillane was the winner of LVMH Prize‘s 2021 Karl Lagerfeld runner-up prize and has presented during Paris Fashion Week, collaborated with Converse and Puma, and sells at top-tier accounts including Dover Street Market, Ssense and Selfridges, among others.
Louis Vuitton CEO Michael Burke has noted there is no set timeline to name Virgil Abloh’s (RIP) successor. Names floated for the job have included designers Martine Rose, Grace Wales Bonner and Samuel Ross, among other.
