Grammy-award-winning rapper Drake has fanned the flames on his ongoing beef with rapper Pusha T (real name Terrence Thornton) by taking shots at the Virginia Beach rapper’s friend and creative partner, Pharrell Williams. In a feature on Travis Scott‘s new single “Meltdown,” Drake (real name Aubrey Graham) spit, “I melt down the chains that I bought from your boss; give a f*ck about all that heritage sh*t,” a reference to the chains Pharrell auctioned and Drake purchased back in January. Drake took further shots at Williams with the line, “Since V[irgil Abloh] not around, the members done hung up the Louis; They not even wearing that shit.”
Revealed in his “Jumbotron Shit Poppin” video, Drake’s jewelry purchases allegedly cost $3.3 million and included a 14K three-tone NERD pendant chain, a white gold brain pendant chain and a skateboard pendant chain.
Neither Pharrell nor Pusha have not responded to Drake’s taunts.
Response to Drake’s shots has been tepid with most wondering why anyone would beef with Williams. It’s also been pointed out that Abloh was friendly with Williams and has cited him as an inspiration.
