Model Paloma Elsesser has released a book titled, Treasure, a collaboration with photographer Zora Sicher. Published by Idea Books, the soft cover book make uses of a series of portraits to document Elsesser’s journey through two breast reduction surgeries over the span of five years.
Limited to just 500 editions, Paloma hosted an event at Dover Street Market in New York, on Saturday (September 1, 2023) celebratng the release of the book.
In press about the book, Elsesser said, “We made this book so that I’d never forget. Time, trauma, and memory always contort my recall. I wanted a record: to be able to revisit the time and know that there was beauty and there was sorrow.
“Treasure is designed to interrogate autonomy. It is an imaginative attempt at understanding the pursuit of oneness with self and asks, who gets to be the arbiter of such subjects; often times, not ourselves; most times, others. What would it mean to do it for you and no one else?”
