Berlin-based Ottolinger, led by designers Cosima Gadient and Christa Bösch, is set to make a statement for all 2024 with the revival of wedge sneakers. The label unveiled a chunky, laced-up design in two colorways during its fall 2024 Paris Fashion Week runway show.
Ottolinger’s take on the trend seamlessly blends the aesthetics of a chunky skate sneaker with the sophistication of a feminine wedge, creating a hybrid show that will no doubt be loved by some and hated by others.
The silhouette is a call back to Isabel Marant’s game-changing Beckett sneaker, which was followed by Nike‘s Dunk Ski Hi, first launched in 2012.
Initial reactions on our Instagram have been diverse, ranging from enthusiastic approval to mixed sentiments, showcasing the polarizing nature of this revived trend.
Despite the varying feedback, stay tuned for further details about the upcoming launch.
