Gap and Palace Skateboards have announced a first-time collaboration on a 30-piece capsule of apparel and accessories. Offerings include a varsity jacket, nylon jacket, rugby shirts, t-shirts, cargo pants, shorts, socks, a six-panel caps, a duck plush and a skateboard deck, among other items.
Paying homage to San Francisco, where Gap is headquartered, a campaign visual shot by Will Robson-Scott follows a day in the life of a band of young skaters as they explore San Francisco landmarks such as St. Mary’s Square, St. Francis Fountain, and the Golden Gate Bridge. In addition to video, there is still photography by Jim Goldberg.
During their day, the kids skate at Pier 7 with skate icons Karl Watson, Elissa Steamer, and Tommy Guerrero, along with Palace skaters Kanin Garner, Jamal Smith, Heitor Da Silva, and Jahmir Brown. The film also features Spice Girls member Melanie C, and nine-year-old professional skateboarder Anna Shea.
