As part of its 40th-anniversary celebration, Marc Jacobs has collaborated with Denim Tears on an exclusive release that merges fashion with cultural storytelling. The highlight of the partnership is a black leather version of Marc Jacobs’ iconic Tote Bag, featuring Denim Tears’ signature cotton wreath motif.
Tremaine Emory, founder of Denim Tears and a former employee of Marc Jacobs, describes the wreath as “a talisman for Black people” and “a call to return to what built this country.” The emblem, often featured in Emory’s work, reflects his mission to explore Black history and cultural identity through fashion.
The Marc Jacobs “Tears” Bag retails for $495 is available starting today October 18th at Denim Tears New York retail store, denimtears.com marcjacobs.com and at select retail locations. The campaign featuring model Aweng Chuol, and Bloody Osiris was photographed by Eric Nelson and styled by Yohana Lebasi.
