LVMH-owned Louis Vuitton has tapped house ambassador Zendaya to star in campaign for the Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami‘s upcoming collection. The collection comprises of over 200 items, including many of Louis Vuitton’s signature silhouettes,including bags, belts, skate decks and perfume.
In a change from 20 years ago, Louis Vuitton now wields powerful social media tools to amplify the global allure of this collaboration, potentially reaching record-breaking levels of earned media.
The highly-anticipated collection celebrates the 20th anniversary of the partnership, which was originally directed by Marc Jacobs. Originally launched in 2003, the decision to reconnect with Murakami is said to have been spurred by Pharrell Williams, who is the creative director of men’s.
The collection will launch on January 3, 2025 on Louis Vuitton’s website and select stores globally, followed by a second release in March.
