Adidas Original’s Superstar kicks are prominently featured in a Pair Vogue editorial contained in the August issue. As shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, the shot is themed on the pairing of highest of high end labels like Versace, Dior and Valentino with beat up, vintage Superstar sneakers.
While Nike seemed to garner all the fashion press last year, Adidas seems to be grabbing a lot of the attention this year. Whether it’s because it’s riding the wave of white leather sneaker fashionability (causing the women’s white with black stripes Superstar to sell out at retail) or the Kanye effect is hard to say though the brand is clearly having a moment.
