As part of its expansion into sports apparel and footwear via the addition of Club USA on the third floor of its SoHo location, Opening Ceremony has picked up the pace on offerings with a connection to fitness and activity. Case in point, its plans for an exclusive collaboration with Vans on its Classic Slip-On. Titled “Qi Pao,” the Chinese name for what we know as the traditional Mandarin gown, a form fitting dress that first appeared in Shanghai during the 1920s. The shoes are wrapped in the same silk brocade used in the gown, a reference that also syncs up with Opening Ceremony’s celebration of the “Year of China.”
Available in black, pink and red, the shoes are now available to purchase at Opening Ceremony.
