Fifteen-year old, singer/cello-playing model of the moment, Mallory Merk, has teamed with rapper/producer Kydnice on a new single balled “Baewatch” produced by Soe95.
Falling under the bubblegum trap sub-genre of rap, the single has appeal not only because Merk is drop-dead gorgeous and a natural cool kid, running with no less than the New York contingent of the Yeezy crew, she also has an appealing voice, as evidenced in her recent (see video below) production-free rendition of Madonna’s “La Isla Bonita” at a Coach karaoke party. Merk musical talents are also evidenced on her YouTube channel, where she’s posted some of her live performances.

Signed with New York Model management, Merk’s buzz levels skyrocketed after she appeared in a Kanye West zine earlier this year, and based on her Instagram account she stays busy shooting even at the less typical model height of 5’7″.
Merk’s first brush with fame, as a 12-year old (!!), was not the best. After posting a image of herself wearing blonde box braids, she was criticized by some for appropriating a black hair style. She responded with an apology and as of late has been a big supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement.
