Recorded in 2012 via online exchange, a Lady Gaga and Azealia Banks collaborative singled titled “Red Flame” found its way onto Soundcloud this week. After the song was recorded, Banks in September 2013 kvetched that Gaga stole “Red Flame” from her, and Tweeted, “Life is great. You can have it. Plenty more where that came from. Seriously. . . This one is free. Next time I’m charging.”
At the time, rumor had it the song would be included on Gaga’s ARTPOP album (released in November 2013), but it never did make the cut. One has to conclude that Bank’s combative statements may have had something to do with Gaga’s choice to steer clear of all things Azealia-related.
