While we here in America were busy electing the wrong president, in the U.K., MOBO Awards was holding its annual event honoring “music of black origin.” It’s worth noting that British rapper and all around dope female Nadia Rose was announced the winner of best video for her visual take on her single “Skwod.”
Released in July and filmed in the streets of London in one take, “Skwod” celebrates young womanhood with fun choreography of an all girl crew clad in Adidas. Rose’s contagious humor and sass shines through the screen, delivering a video you can watch over and over again.
Rose was recently signed to Sony music’s Relentless Records and is working on an upcoming EP due out in 2017.
