New York rapper and artist Princess Nokia aka Destiny Frasqueri has released the visual for “Kitana,” an Atrak & Lex Lugersingle-produced single (our fave) from her 1992 album. Directed by Frasqueri, the video builds on the theme of female togetherness, showing women of color boxing each other and yet, still standing shoulder to shoulder and carousing after the battle is done.
No doubt the boxing is symbolic of Mortal Kombat’s Princess Kitana, a great warrior who is known for her complex personality and sexy good looks (not unlike Frasqueri!) “I step in this bitch and I do what I want, I don’t give a damn and I don’t give a fuck!”
