Since making the catchy hit “I love It,” (it’s now at close to 112 million views on YouTube) in 2013, Swedish group Icona Pop (Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo) has continued to perform and make music with their most recent effort a visual for their single “Brightside,” an ode to friendship and overcoming the everyday drudgery of life.
Directed by Christine Yuan in an empty Los Angeles Chinatown restaurant, Hjelt and Jawo, who are self styled to the nine, perform playful coordinated dance moves.
Currently the duo is based in Los Angeles, where they are working on a new album, a follow up to This Is…Icona Pop, released in 2014. Soon they will be traveling to Norway where they will perform at the prestigious Nobel Peace Price concert on December 11, 2016 in Oslo.
